The total import cargos of 72,629 tonnes comprised of 38,611 tonnes of containerised cargo; 19,813 tonnes of bulk cargo; 12,858 tonnes of DPA and 1,347 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargos of 25,759 tonnes comprised of 25,759 tonnes of containerised cargo and nil tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
As many as 4,522 containers comprising of 2,721 containers import and 1,801 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Wednesday.
The breakup of imported containers shows 965 of 20's and 857 of 40's loaded while 02 of 20's and 20 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 727 of 20's and 295 of 40's loaded containers while 52 of 20's and 216 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours.
There were two ships namely Mayssan and TSM Dubhe carrying containers and chemical respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
There were four vessels viz. Charlotte Schulte, APL England, Huanghai Developer and Seacon-7 carrying containers and general cargo respectively currently at the berths.
The total import cargo of 123,718 tonnes includes 52,718 tonnes of coal; 12,000 tonnes of soyabean; 11,500 tonnes of palm oil and 47,500 tonnes of containerised cargo.
The total export cargo of 14,440 tonnes includes 14,440 tonnes of containerised cargo.
As many as 3,260 containers comprising of 2,500 containers import and 760 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Wednesday.
There was one ship namely Star Mistral carrying coal sailed out to sea on Wednesday morning, while another ship namely Maersk Selector carrying containers is expected to sail on the same day afternoon.
A total number of eight vessels were occupied berths to load/offload containers, soyabean, coal and palm oil respectively at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.
As many as seven vessels viz. Ranger, Sakizaya Hero, Great Praise, Ariadne, Magda, Al-Gharrafa and Nordic Geneva carrying soyabean, canola, coal, LNG and diesel oil respectively were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.
There were three ships viz. MOL Grandour, Al-Gharrafa and Nordic Geneva carrying containers, LNG and diesel oil respectively expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Engro Elengy Terminal and FOTCO Oil Terminal respectively on Wednesday.
There was one ship namely MOL Grandour carrying containers due to arrive on Wednesday, while another ships namely Maersk Bentonville carrying containers is due to arrive on Thursday.
